From Infants to Teens - There Is Care For All Ages

Chiropractic Care for Infants

Infant chiropractic care at Reform Health & Wellness is gentle, age-appropriate, and focused on supporting comfortable movement and reducing areas of muscular tension.

For babies experiencing feeding challenges or concerns related to a tongue or lip tie, treatment may include gentle soft tissue therapy to the jaw, neck, shoulders, and surrounding muscles. These techniques may help address tension or movement restrictions that can sometimes accompany feeding difficulties.

Chiropractic and soft tissue therapy do not release or correct a tongue tie. Instead, care may be used as part of a collaborative approach alongside your baby's physician, dentist, lactation consultant, or other healthcare provider before or after a tongue-tie assessment or procedure.

Chiropractic care for children is different from chiropractic care for adults.

Our goal is simple: help growing bodies move well, feel good, and stay active.

Every appointment is adapted to your child's age, comfort level, development, and reason for visiting. Treatment may include gentle manual therapy, age-appropriate chiropractic techniques, soft tissue therapy, mobility exercises, stretching, rehabilitation, and education.

When a chiropractic adjustment is appropriate, the technique and amount of force used are modified specifically for the child.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Treatment is based on what your child actually needs.

Why Do Children See a Chiropractor?

Children can experience many of the same muscle and joint concerns as adults—especially as they grow, become more active, and participate in sports and recreational activities.

Parents may bring their child to a chiropractor for concerns such as:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain or stiffness
  • Sports injuries
  • Muscle strains
  • Joint pain or stiffness
  • Postural concerns
  • Movement or mobility concerns
  • Repetitive strain from sports or activities
  • Discomfort associated with growth
  • Headaches with a musculoskeletal component
  • Recovery following minor injuries
  • General musculoskeletal assessment

Every child is assessed individually.

If your chiropractor determines that your child's symptoms require further investigation or assessment by another healthcare professional, an appropriate referral or recommendation will be discussed.

Pediatric Sports Injuries

Helping Young Athletes Get Back to What They Love

Hockey. Soccer. Dance. Gymnastics. Volleyball. Baseball. Skiing. Basketball.

Kids and teens are participating in sports at increasingly high levels, and growing bodies can face significant physical demands along the way.

Young athletes are also continuously developing strength, coordination, mobility, and movement patterns. Injuries can occur suddenly or develop gradually through repetitive training and activity.

Our chiropractors can assess musculoskeletal injuries involving areas such as the:

  • Ankles and feet
  • Knees
  • Hips
  • Lower back
  • Shoulders
  • Elbows
  • Wrists
  • Neck

Treatment may combine hands-on care with mobility exercises, strengthening, and rehabilitation recommendations designed to help your child recover and return to activity appropriately.

Growing Bodies, Movement & Posture

Children spend a lot of time sitting at school, using computers, carrying backpacks, participating in activities, and looking at phones and tablets.

There isn't one single "perfect" posture. However, prolonged positions, repetitive activity, training demands, and rapid changes in a growing body can sometimes contribute to stiffness, fatigue, or discomfort.

A chiropractic assessment can evaluate factors such as:

  • Joint mobility
  • Muscle function
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Movement patterns
  • Areas of discomfort
  • Sport-specific demands

Rather than simply telling kids to "sit up straight," we focus on helping them move better, build strength, and develop healthy movement habits.

What Can Pediatric Chiropractic Treatment Include

Your child's treatment is based on their individual assessment and goals. Depending on their needs, care may include:

Gentle Chiropractic Techniques

Age-appropriate manual therapy, joint mobilization, or chiropractic adjustments (including the activator) may be used when clinically appropriate.

Soft Tissue Therapy

Gentle muscle and soft tissue techniques may be used to address areas of tension, stiffness, or discomfort.

Mobility & Stretching

Simple exercises may be recommended to improve flexibility, mobility, and comfortable movement.

Strength & Rehabilitation

Children and young athletes may receive age-appropriate exercises designed to improve strength, stability, coordination, and movement control.

Education

We may discuss sports participation, activity modification, recovery, ergonomics, movement habits, and strategies your child can use at home.

Not every child needs the same type of treatment, and chiropractic adjustments are not automatically performed at every appointment.
